Shriners Children’s Genomics Institute is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar. Our research involves studying the underlying genomic etiology of neuromusculoskeletal disorders with the intent of improved diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
A postdoctoral scholar in computational biology would develop and apply advanced bioinformatics algorithms to address biological questions central to the Shriners research mission. The Postdoctoral Scholar would be expected to manage one or more independent projects intended for publication as well as assist with regular activity including large scale genomic data analysis and visualization. Projects available may include bulk or single cell RNA-sequencing, phenotypic analyses (clustering/profiling and/or pheWAS analyses), clinical genomic studies, and case/control analysis (GWAS, RVBA).
Hybrid/remote
Required skills
PhD in bioinformatics or related
Solid knowledge of bash, python and/or R and biostatistics
Strong experience in machine learning, complex disorders, and RNA-sequencing is a plus.
