The Universitat de Barcelona is seeking a highly motivated Computer Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of a cutting-edge federated analysis infrastructure for the European repository of cancer imaging data (cancerimage.eu).
As part of the EUCAIM project—a flagship €33 million initiative funded by the European Commission—you will play a key role in building a secure, scalable, and legally compliant platform for AI-powered cancer research.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing a distributed analysis infrastructure.
- Developing procedures for the integration of AI and data analysis tools, and workflows.
- Ensuring interoperability, privacy, and performance of federated systems.
Candidate profile

Required qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, software engineering, data management, distributed systems, or cloud computing
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to work independently and manage priorities to meet project deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English
Desirable
- Previous experience in European/international collaborative projects
- Familiarity with biomedical or healthcare data ecosystems
