We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, monitor and optimize our OpenStack environment, and the data services for the Center, ensuring seamless performance and user experience, for giving support to BSC multidisciplinary researchers and be part of the data management team of the BSC. The successful candidate is expected to improve generic Data Services at BSC with AI tools, and plan the deployment of new services, according to the center needs, for the creation and consolidation of a robust Data Management software platform, secure, scalable and configurable for the multiple users profiles and disciplines of the center.
The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs within Investment 4 of Component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

Requirements
- Education
-- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related fields.
-- Master degree in Data Science or related topics would be a plus.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
-- Experience with OpenStack.
-- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Key Duties
- Manage and maintain OpenStack infrastructure, provide support to Users in implementing their projects in OpenStack.
- Monitor and troubleshoot to ensure high availability of data management services.
- Configure, manage and optimize data services running in OpenStack.
- Implement best practices for big data processing and security.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Provide technical support and guidance to BSC support teams and Users for configuring and adopting BSC data services.
- Introduce AI tools to improve and optimize the data services and the User experience.
- Design and direct projects, for the growth of the current Data Management services at BSC, in collaboration with the Data Managers of the BSC Departments.
- Contribute to the writing of papers , reports, documentation and funding proposals.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of other engineers for the realization of the projects of the technical data management team.

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
- Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
