Postdoctoral positions in the area of structural bioinformatics are available immediately in my group at Department of Biological Sciences/Computer Science at Purdue University. The research topics include biomolecular structure modeling for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and cryo-electron tomogram (cryo-ET), various types of structure prediction of proteins and nucleic acids, protein function annotation, and other related projects in bioinformatics. See our software developed for cryo-EM at em.kiharalab.org/ and our publication at kiharalab.org/web/publications/.
Qualified candidates should hold a PhD in computer science, biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, or in a related field.
Fluent programming skill in Python, C++, is essential. Experience in machine learning, particularly deep learning, is highly desired. Understanding and experience in modifying Alphafold codes, strong mathematics, biophysics, and chemistry background is strong plus.
