We are looking for outstanding candidates to fill a permanent, full-time position of >>MultiOmics Bioinformatician<< at the Institute (Department) of Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANIVET), Aarhus University (AU), Denmark.
The successful candidate
* will join our team of Multiomics, Systems biology & Bioinformatics (MSB) at ANIVET.
* will provide MultiOmics Data management, Computational and Bioinformatics Analysis support for MSB teams’ research and educational activities and support activities in the research theme group of Digitalization, Data science and Bioinformatics, both led by Prof. Haja Kadarmideen.
* Perform various tasks including NGS data processing pipelines, multiomics data integration, develop or apply systems biology and bioinformatics tools/pipelines to analyse genomics/multiomics, phenotype/phenomics, health/disease/clinical, managemental and environmental datasets.
* assist other researchers at the department and takepart in our relevant national and international collaborative projects.
* Contribute to / assist in teaching (MSc & PhD courses) and student supervision.
* Applicants must have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or computational biology or closely related fields with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in this area or Masters’ degree in this discipline with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in this area.
* Advanced computer programming skills in R and Python and preferably also other languages such as Perl and Julia for statistical and bioinformatics applications preferably including the use of Machine Learning and AI/deep learning for omics data analyses.
* Demonstrated proficiency in UNIX, shell scripting (Bash) for automation, workflow optimization using Nextflow and Snakemake, and setting up computational environments for bioinformatics analysis on HPC or cloud computing systems.
