Iām setting up my lab at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), located on the edge of Berlin, Germany. We are currently recruiting for fully funded PhD student or postdoctoral positions to work on pioneering projects in AI for safe synthetic biology & infectious diseases (especially antimicrobial resistance). We're especially interested in generative models & LMs for bio, biosecurity, interpretability, & good OOD generalization.

- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, AI, Molecular or Synthetic Biology (with dry-lab experience) or related fields, preferably with deep learning experience for protein or genomic data
- Fluent in English (German not required - English is the working language of the lab)
- Passion for collaborative, interdisciplinary research
