Description

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and genomics to join our team at the Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center (PNGC). This role focuses on developing AI models to explore gene regulation in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, utilizing rich genetics and functional genomics datasets, including those from the Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP) and the Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD).

Key Responsibilities include: (1) Design, develop, and implement AI models to model molecular mechanisms of tissue and cell-type specific gene regulation. (2) Integrate large-scale genetics and functional genomics data from Alzheimer’s disease studies and relevant public human datasets to identify regulatory variants and gene expression modulations. (3) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team at PNGC to advance Alzheimer’s research.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field. Expertise in machine learning and deep learning techniques and experience with genetics, genomics, or functional genomics data required. Proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages for AI and data analysis required. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Background in gene regulation, transcriptional biology, or Alzheimer’s disease research, experience analyzing data from large consortia, and familiarity with cloud computing and large-scale data processing preferred.
