The lab of Martin Schaefer is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong computational background to join our project on protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks. This research aims to improve the accuracy and interpretation of PPI data, addressing key challenges in network biology.
While the position is ideally suited for a postdoctoral researcher, we also welcome applications from recent graduates interested in pursuing a PhD. The project offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Project Overview: Protein-protein interaction networks are essential for understanding biological processes, but current methods suffer from errors and biases, especially from overrepresentation of frequently studied proteins. In collaboration with Friedrich Alexander University and the Technical University of Munich, in a project funded by the Klaus Tschira foundation we aim to:
- Develop a robust negative gold standard for PPI predictions.
- Reduce study bias in PPI networks
