The researcher will be working on the project "CroAGE - Introducing cap analysis of gene expression (CAGE) to the Croatian research system as a scaffold for finding anti-tumour targets". Their main research task will include analysis of vertebrate promoters defined by CAGE using deep learning and AI.
In addition to the general recruitment requirements from Article 43 of the Law on Scientific Activity and Higher Education, applicants must meet the following requirements:
A doctoral degree in natural scineces, biotechnical sciences, technical sciences, biomedical sciences and public health, or interdisciplinary sciences.
Previous programming experience in languages like Python, R, Matlab or Java
Active knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
Preference will be given to candidates with good knowledge of advanced statistical methods, experience in the application of machine learning methods and tools, and independence in scientific work demonstrated by the publication of publications. Additionally, experience in regulatory genomics, application of machine learning methods or advanced statistics to large data sets in biomedicine or natural sciences is preferred.
