The Medical University of Vienna organises an open PhD call twice a year and invites applications for all currently open PhD positions within its 18 PhD programmes. We encourage ambitious and creative young scientists interested in research in the areas of transnational human-centred technologies and life sciences, AI, machine learning and medical imaging to develop their original research projects with the support of our renowned and international scientists. We offer fully-funded PhD positions in one of the world's most liveable cities - Vienna. Our university is a leader in translational science and has an excellent infrastructure for research, personal and professional development and networking. Requirements: We are seeking applicants with an academic qualification (Master/BSc.Hon) in all areas of informatics, bioinformatics and/or computational biology or related fields. Candidates should have a strong interest in working on interdisciplinary projects and in collaborating with medical / immunological groups. Other requirements: A high level of English and good communication skills; the ability to work effectively as part of a team; previous research experience in the area for which you are applying would be an advantage, but is not essential.
You will become part of our university staff, with full entitlement to health insurance, welfare and training benefits, and a pension scheme. Positions are limited to one year, with the possibility of extending (to complete the dissertation). Payment is based on the collective agreement for university employees or the FWF salary agreement for PhD students for 30 hours per week.
