Description

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in the laboratory of Prof. Ekta Khurana (khuranalab.med.cornell.edu) at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) in New York City. Successful applicants will lead exciting projects, for example, discovery of drivers of lineage plasticity in treatment resistance, algorithm development for use of cell-free DNA to decode tumor epigenome and transcriptome, and deciphering the effects of tumor microenvironment on treatment resistance. Our current focus is on prostate and breast cancer but we are interested in the evolution of different cancer types. Successful candidates will have opportunities to collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and clinicians, for example, computational biologists, cancer biologists, oncologists, and pathologists. The Khurana lab has access to clinical data and patient samples at WCM and participates actively in national and international cancer genomics consortia. We are looking for candidates across the wide spectrum of computational biology: from those interested in wet lab work and data analysis, to those interested in machine learning and methods development.
Weill Cornell Medicine is a comprehensive academic medical center located in New York City with multiple joint programs with the neighboring Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University and Cornell University in Ithaca. Over the past several years NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center has been rated as one of the top five hospitals in the United States.

Weill Cornell Medicine is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EOE/M/F/Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities.

You will be offered competitive salary (above NIH guidelines) and generous benefits.

Qualifications

We are looking for a diverse group of candidates and a Ph.D. in either of these fields would be required: computational biology, computer science, genomics, cancer biology, or a related field. A strong computational background, proficiency in at least one programming language and knowledge of statistics are also required.
