Hearing Restoration Project (HRP) consortium (hearinghealthfoundation.org/hearing-restoration-project) is hiring a bioinformatics scientist to develop methods, tools, and pipelines to analyze and integrate a variety of bulk and single omics data in multiple species pertaining to development and regeneration of hair cells, with the ultimate clinical goal of developing therapies for hearing restoration in human. The individual will have a position in the lab of Dr. Hertzano, M.D., Ph.D., in the Neurotology branch at NIDCD, NIH, and work closely under direct supervision of Dr. Hannenhalli, Ph.D., in the Cancer Data Science Lab at NCI, NIH.
• strive to be on the forefront of methods for comparative cross-species analysis of multi-omics data and gene regulatory networks
• act as the primary bioinformatics liaison among the HRP PIs
• work closely and regularly communicate the progress with HRP PIs
• proactively learn and contribute to the understanding hair cell development and regeneration, and the evolution thereof
• a doctorate in computational biology or related field
• substantial experience in bulk and single cell multi-omics data analysis
• well versed in high performance/cloud computing
• track record of successful research in form of publications in respected journals
• a deep interest in biology
• proactive learner
