The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in the area of bioinformatics. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers in the new West Virginia Network for Functional Neuroscience and Transcriptomics (WV-NFNT) and the Data Science Core. We are particularly interested in applicants with research interests in the genomic, genetic, epigenetic, and environmental causes of complex diseases and with prior experience in analysis of spatial transcriptomics.
Candidates will be expected to:
1. Maintain an independent and/or collaborative research program, including bioinformatics support for the West Virginia Network for Functional Neuroscience and Transcriptomics (WV-NFNT).
2. Teach bioinformatics and statistical methods to graduate students, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows in the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (JCESOM) at Marshall University
3. Participate in JCESOM and Marshall University service and self-governance.

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related discipline. At least two years' post-doctoral experience.
