Our goal will be to scale up and apply approach developed in the lab based on network analysis for GWAS (Climente-González et al. 2021) to the analysis of whole-genome sequencing (WES) data (~600K variants after quality control) generated for up to 200,000 participants of the UK Biobank.
We have already made progress in that direction, identified a case study phenotype,
prepared the data, and run the pipeline for four of the six tools used in Climente-
González et al. (2021).
Your Role: Perform a sensitivity analysis, evaluating the impact of randomly removing a
fraction of the samples; compare results to other biobanks, evaluate the impact of several choices (e.g the biological network).
A PhD in computer science, computational biology, statistical genetics,
or equivalent is required. Experience with genome-wide association studies, whole-
genome sequencing data, or biological networks is strongly preferred.
