A new and unique opportunity has arisen for a university position of Principle Investigator at the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology (MCB), Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. We are looking for an exceptional individual who is already working at the highest international level of research with a proven track record of research leadership, successful grant applications and an excellent publication track record. This is a permanent position subject to a successful probationary period. Associated with this position will be a staff scientist level position, 1-2 PhD positions and an administrative officer. Additional staff are expected to be employed from third-party funded research grants.
We are looking for a PI that can complement our research team and will bring in prestigious national and international grants. We will provide full support for the successful candidate in grant applications as well as mentoring in leadership skills. We are keen to hear from any top class researchers that fit broadly into our scientific interest areas but want to highlight that this position might be of particular interest (but not limited to) to those where structural biology forms a core of their research or someone with an immunological interest/background that would strongly complement many research groups.
The selection procedure is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.2) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on higher education and science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 163 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:
• holding at least a doctoral degree;
• having significant and creative achievements in scientific, professional or artistic work;
• having achievements in organisational work.
Additional requirements and expectations:
• Excellent publication record with at least 10 papers as a leading author
• A minimum H-index of 14
• Track record of successful grant applications, implementation and delivery
• Track record of international collaborations
• International experience
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Evidence of participation in the wider scientific community
