Teaching responsibilities may include participation in biomedical informatics and computational biology PhD and MS training programs, as well as teaching informatics and data science courses in biomedical graduate programs. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.
Clinical responsibilities may include activities in the faculty member’s clinical specialty (if relevant).
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include variations based upon the faculty track. Faculty on the Clinician Educator track typically participate in research as co-investigators. Opportunities also exist to establish oneself as a research leader in their area of specialization.

The successful candidate can also become a member of the Institute for Biomedical Informatics (IBI). Established in 2015 to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, the IBI comprises 70+ laboratories with a wide range of biomedical and clinical research focuses.
