Oxford University Press (OUP) invites applications and nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief of its peer-reviewed journal, Briefings in Bioinformatics.
Briefings in Bioinformatics is one of the most highly respected and cited journals in Mathematical and Computational Biology. The journal is an international forum for researchers and educators in the life sciences of interest to mathematicians, statisticians and computer scientists who apply their work to biological problems. The journal publishes reviews for the users of databases and analytical tools of contemporary genetics, molecular and systems biology and is unique in providing practical help and guidance to the non-specialist in computerized methodology. Papers range in scope and depth, from the introductory level to specific details of protocols and analyses encompassing bacterial, plant, fungal, animal and human data.
The incoming Editor will lead the journal, in close collaboration with the Publisher, Deputy and Handling Editors, and wider editorial team. The Editor will be an ambassador for the journal throughout the research community and will be responsible for the journal’s editorial direction. Tenure of a five-year commitment is anticipated to begin Spring 2023.
We are open to receiving co-editor applications as well.
