Applications are sought for a senior academic to join the Barts Cancer Institute in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The post holder will lead a multidisciplinary research programme and implement an artificial intelligence framework for a comprehensive integrated radiological/histological, clinical and molecular analysis to aid advanced diagnostics, prognostics and therapy. This is one of three professorial positions, funded with a generous package of support by Barts Charity, as part of a strategic initiative by the University and Barts Life Sciences.

Barts Cancer Research UK Centre (BCC) is part of a nationwide network of 15 Cancer Research UK Centres, and the major CRUK City of London Centre. Our vision is to focus on the application and translation of our research to the clinic, whilst continuing to conduct cutting edge, fundamental research to understand the mechanisms as well as the epidemiology, screening and prevention of cancer.

Qualifications

You will be a scholar with an established international scientific reputation in this field. You will have a significant track-record of high-quality research, evidenced by publication in internationally renowned journals, and be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant field, with research expertise in the field of Digital Pathology and Image Analytics including publications in internationally renowned journals. A successful track record of grant funding from research councils and other sources plus excellent teaching skills are essential.
