Description

Department of Bioinformatics at the TUM School of Life Sciences is seeking a post-doctoral fellow. The candidate will investigate the impact of endogenous viruses on host biology using a combined computational and experimental strategy in collaboration with Dr. Michelle Vincendeau at the German Research Center for Environmental Health (Munich) and Dr. Jan Paces at the Institute of Molecular Genetics (Prague).

Salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale: TV-L E13 100%. The position is available starting immeduately for 36 months.


Qualifications

- A PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, computer science, or biology
- Excellent knowledge of bioinformatics and biology, in particular genomics
- Familiarity with machine learning and statistics
- Strong programming skills (python, R)
- Comfortable with the Linux/Unix environment, databases (MySQL)
