We are accepting applications for postdoctoral fellows, bioinformaticians, or data scientists in the Translational Statistical Bioinformatics Lab (transbioinfolab.org/) at the University of Miami, Department of Public Health Sciences, affiliated with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics, to work on genomic research related to cancers and Alzheimer’s disease. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with strong problem-solving skills to develop and implement innovative computational approaches for analyzing high throughput genomic and epigenomic data. Multiple project directions are available, including cutting-edge research topics on biomarker discovery, multi-omics data integration, single-cell/spatial omics analysis, disease subtype discovery, and network analysis. The candidate will work with mentors and collaborators with decades of experience in biostatistics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and genetics. Training in both computational analysis and written communication will be provided.
Master or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in using R/Bioconductor and Python for genomic data analysis is required. Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written) are desirable.
