GOF Biotechnologies Inc., is a young start-up company focused on protein/peptide therapeutics. We have a novel technology that can give certain proteins with functions that are totally different from those they originally had (Gain-Of-Function). Using this platform technology, we have developed peptides that have very interesting biological activities which may make a huge impact on the field of peptide therapeutics, and creates a huge commercial value. There are three peptides that are currently under development as new drugs in our pipeline for treating several neurodegenerative diseases.
Role
We are seeking a bioinformatics scientist to play a support role for a wet lab in a new start-up biotech company. The role would include the following things:
-Work together with the bioinformatics team leader in different projects
-Analyzing protein data in order to determine their structure
-Performing RNA-seq data to study expression levels of proteins involved in Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases
Qualifications
The candidate should have the following qualifications in order to fit this role:
-MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, with a focus on protein structure analysis
-Knowledge of protein structure databases (i.e. Protein Database)
-Knowledge of how to work with protein structure files (PDB, PDBML, CIF, mmCIF)
-Knowledge of protein structure prediction software (i.e. NMA, AlphaFold, PEP-FOLD, GenScript)
