The Sr. Application Administrator (App Admin)â Research Informatics is responsible for empowering cutting-edge data science at The Jackson Laboratory through the support of one or more Laboratory Informatics (LIMS) platforms. The App Admin works as an integral member of a team that provisions, configures and maintains LIMS deployments for research laboratories and services, and integrates LIMS with other research software through their respective application programming interfaces (APIs). The App Admin utilizes tools and best practices in support and expansion of platforms, including programming and scripting as required.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field required 3 years of relevant experience required. Life science background/experience preferred Experience with Linux systems, Python, APIs, OData, etc. Deep knowledge of structured data and/or databases, particularly in the biomedical domain Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities Ability to lead small projects Ability to lead others Effective written, oral, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
