Description

A full-time postdoctoral position is open in the group of Julio Saez-Rodriguez at Heidelberg University (www.saezlab.org). The position is part of the newly funded collaborative project CRC 1550 ‘Molecular Circuits of Heart Disease’.
You will develop novel computational methods and combine them with state of the art methodologies to integrate bulk and single-cell OMICs data from several dedicated mouse models and patients (in house and public), in order to identify shared and distinct biological signals amongst sub-phenotypes of heart disease. The position is in close collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Norbert Frey (Cardiology), who will generate the omics data and validate the findings coming from the computational analysis.

Qualifications

Candidates interested in developing and applying methods from bioinformatics and machine learning to analyze omics data are encouraged to apply. You are expected to hold a PhD in bioinformatics or computational biology, or a degree in biological science with substantial experience in computational work.

Start date

As soon as possible

How to Apply

Candidates should email their CV (including the names of three references) and a letter of interest to jobs.saez (at) uni-heidelberg.de. The letter of interest has to be tailored to our group, and explaining how you would fit here and in the topic mentioned above. Please also provide a pointer to a code repository.
