The La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI, San Diego, California) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to strengthen our research program in bioinformatics as applied to immunology and related disciplines. Applicants must have an outstanding record of scientific ability demonstrated by a strong publication record and/or other research products such as computational methods or software packages. Demonstrated expertise to work collaboratively with experimental scientists is a requirement, as are research directions that allow for interlinking with existing programs at LJI. This hire is part of LJI’s Strategic Vision to become a leading institute for bioinformatics research as applied to immunology.


LJI is an independent not-for-profit research institute. The institute offers a superb and broadly-based research environment ranging from genetics, epigenetics, molecular biology and structural biology to cellular immunology, developmental biology, studies in animal models and human clinical trials. The institute is located on UC San Diego campus, where many faculty members hold adjunct appointments with access to students at all levels, and has tight interactions with neighboring institutions such as the Salk, Scripps, Sanford Burnham and J Craig Venter Institutes, as well as many local pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
