The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource Facility at the Markey Cancer Center (MCC) is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst to provide prompt, comprehensive and state-of-the-art bioinformatics and statistics support for MCC investigators. The candidate will get involved in collaborating with MCC investigators, generating manuscripts, and developing competitive grant applications. The candidate will process and analyze various types of omics data generated from next-generation sequencing and other high-throughput platforms. The candidate will also perform data mining from genomic data repositories and conduct customized analyses for specific research projects.

As a National Cancer Institute designated cancer center, MCC offers a unique and exciting opportunity to engage with multidisciplinary teams of scientists with diverse backgrounds in cancer cell biology and signaling, genomic instability, epigenetics and metabolism, population-based cancer prevention and control, drug discovery, delivery and translational therapeutics. Qualifications

The position requires a master’s degree (or equivalent) in biostatistics, statistics, computer science, bioinformatics or a related field. A candidate is expected to have strong computational skills in R, Python or C, and excellent teamwork, communication and documentation skills. Experience in cancer-related research is preferred, though not required.
