Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Dr. Ivan Ovcharenko at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Current research projects include computational studies of epigenetic and sequence-based mechanisms of gene regulation. The Ovcharenko group is developing computational approaches to decipher the regulatory landscape of the human genome. By combining next generation sequencing data with a large body of experimental enhancer characterization, these computational approaches target transcriptional mechanisms of tissue-specific regulatory signals and cell type-specific differences in gene regulation.

Candidates with a PhD in Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Population Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field and less than 5 years of prior postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply. Deep Learning modeling and regulatory genome data analysis skills are desirable.

Interested candidates should email a current CV and the names and contact information for three references to Dr. Ivan Ovcharenko at ovcharen@nih.gov.

This position is supported by the NIH Intramural Research Program and includes stable, multi-year funding and outstanding benefits and compensation.

HHS, NIH, and NLM are equal opportunity employers. NIH is dedicated to building a diverse community in its training and employment programs.
