The biomedical data visualization lab is seeking a postdoctoral trainee who is passionate about promoting biomedical and cancer research and addressing big data challenges from the unique perspective of scientific data visualization. To qualify, the candidate should have a solid background in general biology and be willing to investigate specific topics of molecular and cell biology, immunology, cancer, or genetic-epidemiology. Candidate must be capable of conducting basic data processing tasks in Linux. Experience with datasets including high-throughput sequencing, proteomics, drug screening and genetic screening (e.g. DepMap) is highly preferred. The candidate should be interested in developing methodologies to address any of the crucial steps in research using complex multi-omics datasets, including data compression and indexing, query and retrieval, integration, visualization, user interaction, and real-time data analysis. The candidate will be working with an established group of scientists and engineers and contribute to the ProteinPaint development (proteinpaint.stjude.org/).
PhD in Computational Biology or related field.
