Research Software Engineer in High Performance Computing in Bioinformatics

Description

A position for a Research Software Engineer is available in the group of Julio Saez-Rodriguez in Heidelberg University. The position is in the context of the High-Performance-Computing (HPC) Center of Excellence in Personalised Medicine, a recently granted European project that aims at the refactoring of system biology simulation tools for HPC and exascale architectures.

You will join an international and interdisciplinary group of scientists developing and applying methods to better understand and treat human diseases such as cancer. For more information visit www.saezlab.org.

In this project you will contribute to the development of simulation tools, optimization and machine learning to translate omics data to medical relevant questions. You will work in collaboration with international experts in different areas to build multi-scale models with an unprecedented scope.


Qualifications

ou are expected to hold a degree in mathematics, physics, engineering or computer science, or a degree in biological science with substantial experience in computational work.


The positions are fully funded for two years, with the possibility of extension. There is no strict deadline, but we aim to fulfill this position as soon as possible.
