Multiple fully funded PhD student positions are available in Dr. Yifei Huang’s lab at Pennsylvania State University (yifei-lab.github.io). The PhD students will combine population genetic, phylogenetic, and machine learning methods to explore genomic determinants of natural selection in humans and other species. Successful applicants will join the Biology Graduate Program or the Bioinformatics and Genomics Graduate Program at Pennsylvania State University.
Applicants should have a strong interest in evolutionary genomics and computational biology. Applicants with a background in evolutionary biology, bioinformatics, genomics, statistics, or machine learning are particularly encouraged to apply. We do not expect that students have already mastered both biology and computation before joining our lab.
