Description

We are looking for a world-class academic in the area of bioinformatics to join the Bioinformatics Group in the Department of Computer Science at UCL. The applicant will contribute to the bioinformatics research activities in the group and also teaching in bioinformatics and other relevant areas of computer science. Although applicants working in any area of bioinformatics are encouraged to apply, we are especially looking for applicants carrying out computational genomics research and machine learning applications in bioinformatics, with both being the ideal.

Appointments made at the rank of Lecturer or Associate Professor will be dependent on current teaching experience and research record.


Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or other related fields by the start of the appointment and should have an outstanding publication record in bioinformatics research, with a clear vision of future research directions to take. In terms of teaching, we are looking for someone with a broad background to enable contributions to UCL CS teaching delivery and also possibly contributions to teaching bioinformatics to life sciences students.
