Description

A number of computational postdoctoral positions are available immediately in Dr. Guo-Cheng Yuan research lab in the Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine, Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.

Dr. Yuan’s lab is interested in systems-level understanding of the regulatory mechanisms underlying the intiation, maintainence, and change of diverse cell states in development and diseases. The lab develops analytical, statsitical, and machine learning methods and software packages to analyze and interpret multi-omic datasets. The lab also partners with leading technological and biomedical experts to integrate computational and experimental approaches to study development and diseases.

Current research areas of interest include: (1) developing computational methods for analyzing single-cell multi-omic data; (2) developing computational methods for spatial transcriptomic analysis; (3) developing methods for epignomics and gene regulatory networks analysis; (4) investigating molecular mechanisms underlying diseases; and (5) translating basic science knowledge to develop effective treatments of diseases.

The term for these positions is for two years and may be continued contingent on successful progress and available funding. A competitive salary, benefits and travel opportunities will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

We welcome applicants who have strong analytical, problem-solving, and programming skills and are passionate about applying these skills in solving important biomedical problems. Prior experience in analyzing omic-scale datasets is desired but not necessary. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and communicate effectively, while being an excellent team member.
