Description

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Northcott Lab (Department of Developmental Neurobiology) to join a highly collaborative team studying intratumoral heterogeneity and cellular hierarchies underlying the childhood brain tumor medulloblastoma. The Northcott Lab has established an internationally renowned track record reporting on the genomic basis of medulloblastoma, substantiated by numerous recent high-impact publications in Nature, Lancet Oncology, and Journal of Clinical Oncology. Leveraging our exquisite access to patient material linked to large clinical trial cohorts, we are applying a combination of cutting-edge, multi-omic approaches (i.e., single-cell, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, CUT&RUN, and proteomics) to discover new biological, mechanistic, and clinical insights responsible for medulloblastoma initiation, progression, and relapse.

Qualifications

The candidate shall have a strong background in cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields. Candidate must have a PhD, be highly motivated and capable of working independently, have an excellent publication record, work well in a team environment, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in cancer biology, molecular and cellular biology, genomics/epigenomics/transcriptomics, and clinical sample processing are highly desirable. Individuals having hands-on experience with sample processing for next-generation sequencing, single-cell genomics, and/or liquid biopsies will be deemed highly competitive, as will those candidates with some degree of bioinformatics experience, although the latter is not a requirement.
