Applications are invited for a 2‐year Postdoctoral Fellowship in statistical genomics and/or machine learning at Dr. Xuekui Zhang's lab at the University of Victoria (UVic). The PDF will contribute towards a combination of multiple funded projects according to his/her research interests. These projects will be conducted in collaboration with Canadian government agencies (Canadian Food Inspection Agency or National Research Council Canada) or universities (University of British Columbia medicine school or various UVic departments).
The University of Victoria campus is located in Victoria, the capital city of the Canadian province of British Columbia, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast. Victoria is the southernmost major city in Western Canada and is about 100 km (60 mi) from Vancouver and Seattle by airplane or ferry. Known as "The Garden City", Victoria is an attractive city and a popular tourism destination.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in a related discipline (e.g. statistics or computer science). Strong programming skills and writing still are essential. Knowledge of genomics is an asset.
