Gryphon Technologies was selected as the Prime contractor to expand its model research data sharing / computational science infrastructure in support of neurosciences research at the NIH. We have an employment opportunity available for a Data Curation Team Lead to play a critical role building out a scientific data archive which houses, harmonizes, and shares human-subjects data that aims to accelerate progress of research in mental health. You will have significant interfacing with Senior National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) staff as you help drive efforts to build critical components & solutions for a massive peta-scale data services infrastructure.

Quick Note #3: Your focus will be on Data Mapping, Harmonization, and Curation efforts (versus Data Analysis).
Your typical responsibilities will include:
. Supervise a team of data curators to harmonize data collection across human subjects research in mental health and substance abuse, representing 1300 projects.
. Provide expertise in the integration of a variety of heterogeneous public health information systems and databases, the sharing and dissemination of public health information, and the interaction of information security technology and the requirements for privacy and confidentiality of public health data.
. Be a hands-on part of the team, assisting with data manipulation and formatting to fit existing data models.
. Seek to innovate the data curation process by applying tools and methods to data curation to accelerating data ingestion through automation.
. Assist with data manipulation and formatting to fit existing data models.
. Track, manage, review, and report on data submissions made by NIH Grantees.
. Oversee Quality Assurance of Data.
. Apply real world experience in biotechnology, statistics, bioinformatics, or related discipline with experience in Health Informatics or other Information Technology expertise to support, shape, and build one of the largest repositories of human subjects research data.
. Serve as Product Owner for NDA software development related to data curation, harmonization, and ingestion.
Requirements:
. Four + years of relevant professional experience with Data Curation, Harmonization, and Mapping;
. College degree required, with a preference for a Masters in biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, molecular biology, genomics;
. Extensive experience writing SQL queries.
. Above normal attention to detail.
. Strong oral & written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills, and be able to work well alone and as part of a team.
Very helpful skills:
. Experience in Biomedical data curation.
. Deep knowledge in at least one of the fields of biology, neuroimaging, or genomics.
. Knowledge of biomedical data ontologies and interoperability standards.
. HL7.
. Experience leading and managing a small team.
