he Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (LBBC - www.inca.gov.br/en/node/2375) is recruiting a postdoc in the project entitled "High-Resolution Profiling of Body Fat Immune Cells in Brazilian Populations", which is among the 29 selected in the world supported by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) - the call “Single-Cell Analysis of Inflammation” (chanzuckerberg.com/science/programs-resources/single-cell-biology/inflammation-projects/high-resolution-profiling-of-body-fat-immune-cells-in-brazilian-populations/). The project is coordinated by the researchers Marcelo Mori and Pedro Moraes-Vieira, from the Biology Institute of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), and by me, Mariana Boroni, researcher at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA).


Qualifications

This position requires a candidate with a completed doctoral degree, with excellent academic records and distinguished communication skills in English (both verbal and written).

The candidate should have proven expertise in writing research articles and experience in handling high-throughput data analysis such as bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, genetic or protein interaction networks, machine learning, and programming skills including R scripting, Python, Java or Bash. A Master’s or PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, and systems biology is ideal. Individuals with prior experience in both computational and wet (experimental) labs is a plus.

Full dedication to research is mandatory. The candidate should have a strong desire to publish high-quality research papers, good communication and problem-solving skills, proactivity, and the ability to work in group.
