Description

The Systems Biology Group at the Computational Biology and Machine Learning Departments in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon is looking for new postdocs. We have openings in a number of exciting research projects in which we aim to develop novel machine learning methods to analyze, model and integrate high throughput genomics, proteomics and imaging data. One of our projects is focused on extending continuous states HMMs for the analysis of SARS-COV-2 infection in lung cells. For this project we are working closely with a number of leading experimental groups that generate the data we use for the modeling and test predictions made by our models. Another project we are involved with is the NIH HuBMAP which is focused on reconstructing a 3D map of the human body at the cellular and molecular levels. HuBMAP centers are generating a very large cross organ datasets which includes several different data types (scRNA-Seq, acATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics and spatial proteomics, to name a few). Our team is focused on the development and implementation of methods for the processing and integration of genomics and imaging data for HuBMAP.
Postdocs joining our group may also be considered for the Lane Fellowship in the department of Computational Biology.
