The Ho Laboratory (holab-hku.github.io/) at the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Hong Kong is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant. The appointee will develop software for analysing large health data, including data in electronic health record, medical images, text data, and sensor data from wearable devices and smartphones (Internet of Things; IoT). This position will commence as soon as possible, on a two year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary; or on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline. They should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team. Preference will be given to those with prior experience in cloud computing, machine learning, or mobile app development.
