Description

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in a new research group in the Biostatistics & Computational Biology Branch (BCBB) at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NIEHS, in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, under Dr. Benedict Anchang.

Qualifications

The successful candidates will develop and apply novel, robust and scalable computational algorithms that visualize, integrate, model and optimize measurements from diverse single-cell and/or bulk proteomic, imaging, genomic and epigenetic datasets. Interested single-cell related applications include data from technologies like CyTOF, CODEX, MALDI, FISH, scRNA-seq, scChIP-seq, scATAC-seq and scmethyl-seq. There is also opportunity to develop methods that model dynamic biological processes using single-cell time course data as well as opportunities for collaborations and applications in early development, diagnosis and treatment of complex adverse processes e.g. cancer, toxicology. However, research topics are not limited to the above, and candidates with different topics of interest are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have or be very close to obtaining a Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, computer science, genetics, computational biology or closely related areas. Programming skill is required and some experience in image processing as well as dynamic and spatial single-cell analysis is a plus. Excellent communication skills and fluency in both spoken and written English are essential.

Interested candidates should submit their curriculum vitae, a detailed statement of their research interests, and the names and contact information for three references to Dr. Anchang Benedict at benedict.anchang@nih.gov.
