Description

Samsung Genome Institute at Samsung Medical Center is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team for research in genomic medicine. Our institute focuses on the development of a comprehensive system for the implementation of precision medicine based on genome sequencing. We are operating the highest global standards level of genome analysis infrastructure with state-of-the-art sequencing platforms and high performance computing facilities. Current projects include single-cell sequencing analysis in diverse diseases including cancers and the analysis of biomedical big data generated by large scale genomic sequencing. One major research is to identify the heterogeneity of cancer cells through a multi-omics approach to understand drug resistance and clinical relevance by the functional characterization of individual cells and the identification of cellular interactions. We are actively cooperating with internal clinicians and external research teams, utilizing data generated from diverse cohorts and multi-level of sequencing platforms. A second one is to develop and apply a computational approach to discover therapeutic markers from a large amount of genomic data, including genome data generated in our institute as well as publicly available data. Applicants will be able to contribute to analyzing data and implementing applications of genomic tools through interaction with collaborators and writing high qualified journals.

Duties:
 Develop computational approaches for the analysis of large scale genomic datasets
 Contribute to the development of NGS data analysis pipelines, including WGS, WES, single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and metagenomics
 Participates in multiple projects with external and internal researchers
 Present the results of computational analyses to collaborators

Qualifications

 The ideal candidate will have PhD degree in one of the following fields: Bioinformatics, Genomics, Medical informatics, Computer science, or Other relevant fields.
 Research experience in working with a multidisciplinary team
 Programming skills in Perl, R, Python in a UNIX/LINUX environment
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
