Silence Therapeutics is poised at an exciting time in its growth and is expanding its bioinformatics activity.


We are seeking a Bioinformatician to join the Technology Innovation Team at Silence Therapeutics, Berlin, Germany. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in developing new siRNA therapeutics both at the in-silico design stage and in finding and evaluating new drug targets.

Your Profile












Principal accountabilities:



• PhD, or, at a minimum, MSc, with track record in bioinformatics
• Post-doctoral or industry experience in a relevant field would be a plus
• Used to working in multidisciplinary teams and reaching joint goals
• High level of creativity and independence in data mining
• High motivation and flexibility to expand existing skills and knowledge
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, good working knowledge of German would be a plus


• Handle whole genome sequencing data and clinical data for identification and validation of new therapeutic targets (in close collaboration with external data sources such as, for instance, Genomics England)
• Advance and evolve the Silence Therapeutics proprietary software for siRNA design using in house data as well as information extracted from different sources in the public domain
• Write scientific protocols and reports
• Participate in discussion and communicate your results in multidisciplinary teams and at scientific meetings
• Contribute to scientific publications and patent applications

Essential Skills and knowledge:

• Extensive experience in analysis of large-scale genomic data using bioinformatics tools and pipelines, ideally including NGS and transcriptomic data sets
• Knowledge and application of R, Python or similar language appropriate for large-scale genomics analysis
• Basic knowledge in Perl
• Thorough understanding of data quality and biological relevance, both for in-house and published data sets
• Ability to set up and continuously maintain customized software

Remuneration
The compensation will include an attractive base salary and benefits/incentives linked to performance.
