Postdoctoral Fellow Positions - Dr. Yinghao Wu's Lab

Albert Einstein College of Medicine
United States New York New York

Description

Dr. Yinghao Wu's lab in Albert Einstein College of Medicine at New York City is currently seeking motivated and innovative scientists to fill out two postdoctoral fellow positions. One focuses on structural bioinformatics and systems biology, while the other focuses on computational biophysics and molecular simulations. The candidates will participate in a multidisciplinary environment. They will have access to high-performance computing facility and high-quality data measured by state-of-the-art experimental techniques. The candidates will also have opportunities to interact with leaders of experimental and computational biologists in New York area. The research of Wu lab is at the cutting edge of understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate the intercellular communications and intracellular signaling networks. We are developing a large variety of computational and modeling tools and apply them to study different biological problems, including host viral interactions, cancer immunotherapy and spatial organization in neural systems.

Qualifications

Any applicants with a Ph.D. from a variety of disciplines including physics, mathematics, chemistry, bioengineering and computational biology will be considered. The applicant for the position in computational biophysics must have a strong background in molecular dynamic simulation and related fields. Previous experiences in method development for simulations of biological systems on the molecular level are highly desirable. The applicant for the position in bioinformatics and systems biology must have extensive background in developing and utilizing computational programs in structural bioinformatics and systems biology. Familiar with the scripting and programming languages to create, analyze and maintain large-scale databases is highly desirable. For both candidates, background knowledge in related field such as immunology, cancer biology or neuroscience will be a plus. The researches in Wu Lab involve close collaborations with multiple experimental laboratories within and outside of the institute. Therefore, candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills.
