Description

Applications are invited for PhD student positions in the Bioinformatics Laboratory of Dr Joshua Ho (holab-hku.github.io/). Full scholarships will be provided to successful candidates. A successful candidate will participate in research projects relating to single-cell analysis, disease genomics, metagenomics, bioinformatics quality assurance, medical AI, big data analysis and systems biology.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor degree with first class honours, preferably in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering or a related discipline. The candidate needs to have a strong passion for developing and applying bioinformatics software to solve a variety of biomedical problems. They should also be organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team; and must be proficient in at least one computer programming language.
