The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for the following academic position:
Professorship for Machine Learning in Precision Medicine
(Joint Affiliation with the Faculty of Sciences)
The assistant professorship with tenure track or tenured professorship at the newly founded Institute for Quantitative Biomedicine starts February 1, 2020. The position will be affiliated with the University Hospital Zurich in order to facilitate transition of machine learning approaches into applications in precision medicine. The professorship covers a wide range of methodological expertise and promotes medical informatics in teaching and research.
The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in both theory and application of machine learning methods and related computational methods in (bio)medicine with a clear focus on research questions relevant to precision medicine, such as the analysis of data obtained from imaging modalities, or identification of associations between molecular and clinical data. Interdisciplinary cooperation with members of the newly established consortium The Loop Zurich and active participation to the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich is expected.
