Description

The Chikina lab at the Department of Computational and Systems Biology at the University of Pittsburgh is looking to for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a DARPA funded project. The aim of the project is building predictive models from high dimensional genomic data with the ultimate goal of adapting these models for use in field. The project will require the application of existing machine learning tools as well as some novel methods development. The successful candidate will work in a fast paced multidisciplinary environment and have access to unique datasets.

Our department has excellent computational resources and a close relationship with the department of Computational Biology in the school of Computer Science at CMU through our joint graduate program and seminars. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is ranked #5 in NIH funding.

Qualifications

Requirements:
-PhD in Computational Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline.
-Excellent programming ability
-Experience working with data
