Description

• The candidate will develop data analysis methods and pipelines for high-throughput proteomics and metabolomics data, and perform data analysis to integrate DNA/RNA sequence data, proteomics and metabolomics data.
• The candidate will contribute to fundamental science research programs studying microbial communities and environmental microbiology.
• Experience with high performance computing platforms, statistical computing, workflow management systems, and building Docker contains is highly desirable.
• The successful candidate will be expected to assist computational biology methods development and validation, to work directly with experimental biologists in interdisciplinary teams, and publish journal articles.
• Successful candidates will have experience working as part of a team, strong verbal and written communication skills, and effective time-management skills.


Qualifications

PhD in Computational Biology or related field
The ideal candidate will have a track record for interdisciplinary research, particularly in the analysis of ‘omics data, including genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data, and be proficient in one or more scripting languages (Perl, Python), as well as one or more statistical computing languages (R or MatLab). They should have a strong fundamental biology background and statistical computing experience. The candidate should have excellent communication skills with a demonstrated interest in multi-disciplinary, collaborative research.
