GROUP LEADER POSITION IN CLINICAL BIOINFORMATICS, MACHINE LEARNING IN BIOLOGY, OR COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY OF CANCER

Description

Institut Curie (www.curie.fr) is a world-class Comprehensive Cancer Center with a hospital group treating more than 13,000 patients per year, and a multidisciplinary research centre combining research in biology, genetics, computational biology, soft matter physics, organic and medicinal chemistry. It includes over 3,000 researchers, physicians, clinicians, technicians and administrative staff working on three sites: Paris, Orsay and Saint-Cloud. The institute facilities include -live cell and small animal imaging, electron microscopy, proteomics and mass spectrometry, high throughput sequencing (NGS), bioinformatics, high-performance computing, animal housing as well as access to large clinical databases and sample collections. Institut Curie is a pioneer in precision medicine, supported by ambitious translational and clinical research programs, including immunotherapy.

Institut Curie is supporting the opening of a position of group leader in the Computational Systems Biology Department (Institut Curie – PSL Research University - INSERM U900 / Mines ParisTech, u900.curie.fr). This Department has research groups both in Paris and Saint-Cloud. The recruited group leader will be based in Saint-Cloud premises, where a strong focus is given on precision medicine, health data management and valorization, and clinical biostatistics with the collaboration of University Versailles Saint-Quentin.




Qualifications

We invite applications from outstanding candidates working in domain directly related to the Department fields and strongly motivated by innovative interdisciplinary approaches. The newly recruited group will benefit from state-of-the-art research equipment, appropriate laboratory space and a start-up package. The successful candidate should have an excellent record of publications and projects, a strong ability to lead a research group, and should meet the criteria to compete for national and international funding, and for French institutional research positions (University, CNRS or Inserm).
