The position is located in the department "Knowledge Discovery and Synthesis" / AG Machine Learning. We are looking to strengthen our team for developing techniques for the analysis of high-dimensional biomedical data (Whole genome sequencing, RNA-Seq, Proteomics,...). The focus is on the development of new machine learning / artificial intelligence techniques, tailored for biomedical research, in tight coordination with cooperation partners from the field of medicine.
Your tasks:
- development of methods, i.a. in the field of machine learning / deep learning
- analysis of high-dimensional biomedical data
- close cooperation with medical cooperation partners
- self-contained scientific work and, if applicable, acquisition of third-party funding
- teaching students of human medicine
The position is offered initially for two years with the possibility of extension. Further scientific qualification (PhD / Habilitation) is planned. The position is part-time suitable.
Your profile:
- completed degree or doctorate in mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, computer science or in a related subject with data science expertise
- practical skills in programming and data analysis
- good English skills
