Description

Dear all,
We have an open position for early-stage researcher with PhD option in Bioinformatics, Marie-Curie Fellowship; EU project with full support for 3y!

Field of research: NGS; smallRNAs; cancer.

We are looking for one enthusiastic PhD student to join our team at the University of Plovdiv, located in Plovdiv, BULGARIA. The research position is part of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network titled “ELBA: European Liquid Biopsies Academy - Towards widespread clinical application of blood-based diagnostic tools” (elba.uni-plovdiv.bg), (cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/211894_en.html).

Liquid biopsies have been heralded as a game changer in cancer management, with blood tests offering a minimally invasive, safe, and sensitive alternative or complementary approach for tissue biopsies. Blood represents a rich source of information through which solid cancers (and their subtypes) can be detected, identified and classified, and matched to a specific therapy. For this reason, the implementation of liquid biopsy in the clinical process is our objective, to facilitate the access of this methodology to all our patients.

The Early-Stage Researcher (ESR) will be supported for 3 years of full-time appointment with possibility for PhD obtaining. The working group headed by Dr. Vesselin Baev combines state-of-the-art bioinformatics analysis tools with cutting-edge Next-generation sequencing technologies (NGS) to investigate regulatory transcriptomics with a focus on small RNAs.
