The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, based in Farmington, CT is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to develop and carry out single-cell genomics/transcriptomics/proteomic experiments and advise others in the technical aspects of such studies. This position will be in the lab of Paul Robson, Ph.D. buff.ly/2GghIcc



Key Responsibilities:



Perform experiments and obtain data with minimal guidance; supervise junior staff to do the same.
Develop protocols.
Write manuscripts and grants.
Efficient, flexible and self-motivated work ethic; to be utilized in planning, executing, and analyzing independent research projects.
Innovative technical and analytical skills required to perform research at the highest level.
Highly motivated and independent, yet able to work well in a group setting.
Passionate about performing scientific research and translating it to improve human health.


Qualifications

Requirements:



A Ph.D.-level scientist in the molecular, cellular and/or developmental biology fields with 7+ years of practical experience in a research laboratory.
Technical expertise in single-cell RNA-seq and RNAflow technologies a must, with experience in ChIP-seq, flow cytometry/sorting, small scale assay development (transcriptomics), histology (FFPE, cryosectioning, in situ hybridization), and mass cytometry additional assets.
Knowledge of relevant computational tools for the above-stated technologies is an additional asset, though coding skills are not essential.
Extensive knowledge in at least three of the four following biological domains essential: human stem cell biology, cell-cell signaling pathways, immunology, mouse molecular/developmental genetics/genomics.
