Lead System Architect

Description

The Lead System Architect is responsible for translating an accurate and deep understanding of the study’s business process into the development and deployment of a supporting enterprise-class IT software architecture. The study is a long-term (20-year+) population-based observational study recruiting initially healthy volunteer participants from large integrated healthcare delivery systems. A major requirement is that the Lead System Architect continuously understand key stakeholder roles and expectations, realizing that the study’s implementation includes numerous sponsor staff and several different subcontracting organizations, all of whom will be dependent upon the IT infrastructure. The Lead System Architect shall work across all study functional areas and provide overall architecture guidance to client to ensure that the IT systems and subsystems operate in a cohesive, evolvable, and scalable fashion, and provide technical, scientific, and operational direction for the development team.


Qualifications

The person in this role shall have experience with modern front-end systems, microservices architecture, data persistence using both relational and “NoSQL” mechanisms, highly indexed data, deployment of 100% API-based exposure of system services, use of cloud-based services, and high-availability systems reliant on multi-node sharding and/or cloud-bursting. The Lead System Architect shall be able to continuously evaluate information technology options and understand of the trajectory of their rapid evolution. The Lead System Architect is required to actively and clearly communicate with the client technical and scientific staff on design, technologies, and processes needed to operate at enterprise scale.
